We finally got the decision made emails!!!!
« on: September 04, 2016, 01:36:22 PM »
Just got our emails this morning that a decision has been made!! If the visas were denied (don't see why they would be), would we have gotten notified that our IHS was refunded?

So is it safe to assume we were approved?? I don't want to get too excited yet lol.

Yay - glad you got the emails!

Have you logged into your visa application/IHS account to see if there is any notification of a refund?

I don't think UKVI notify you themselves (other than in a refusal letter) - I think you either need to check your bank balance or your online account to see if a refund has gone through or been initiated (it can take up to 3 months to go through, though: https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/refunds)

If there isn't anything about a refund, then hopefully it will be good news, though I wouldn't assume anything until you have your passports back.

Woohoo!  On a Sunday!  Sounds like they are trying to work through the backlog.

Looking forward to your update of having your visas in hand in a couple of days!   :D [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif]

Actually, I just had a thought: considering the fact that they asked for the IHS to be paid for your son and then sent the decision made emails right after, I would guess that the visas have been approved.

Surely they wouldn't ask for the IHS to be paid if they were just going to turn around and refund it right afterward? Otherwise, they could have just refused it in August, without asking you to pay the extra IHS.

Yes it was, but I had had a prior entry refusal and I overstayed by 2 days, I don't know if that caused the delay or not. I know if they had replied to my email saying we didn't need to pay IHS, we could have gotten our visas 8 days earlier, but not much I can do about it now.

That's what I was thinking, it wouldn't make sense to ask for IHS just to refund right after. It seems to me they were waiting on IHS to be paid so they could approve and send them out.

On another note, we no longer live at the address listed on the visas, and apparently whoever is there now is refusing any and all deliveries with our names.

I've signed up for MyUps, and asked that they be delivered to a UPS store without attempting delivery at our old address. Does anyone know if UPS will do this? They say some deliveries can't be changed.

I can pay $40 for a two hour delivery window, which I guess is better than an entire day spent at a house I no longer live in like some weird stalker. 😆

I did that before with FedEx when I lived in the US (delivered to a counter).  Many years ago too.  I would hope UPS is the same!

That's so great! I had a prior entry refusal too so that gives me hope! Unfortunately mine wasn't priority because I thought if you have any type of refusal you shouldn't do priority...now I really wish I had done it
