Naturalisation and Form AN
« on: August 31, 2016, 12:50:45 PM »
I would be applying for naturalisation soon. I am stuck with few questions on form AN, I will appreciate if members/moderators can share their insights and help.
How to answer question 6.7 when using NCS? Question 6.7 asks whether you have enclosed your BRP with the application. As I understand at NCS, they will return your BRP and only send an attested copy of it with application. If I answer NO then I will have to provide the reason why BRP is not enclosed and also the location of BRP. Please guide how should I answer these questions. Question 6.11 is '' Do you want the Home Office to retain your BRP. Is it advisable to send original BRP with application and let the Home Office to retain it? if not how should I answer questions 6.7 to 6.12? Please help.

Retain your BRP if you have travel plans after you submit. If you keep it, you will have to send the BRP to the HO within 5 days of your naturalisation ceremony or you risk a £1000 fine. I would send it if you don't already have travel anywhere booked...
2004-2008: Student Visa
2008-2010: Tier 1 PSW
2010-2011: Tier 4
2011-2014: Tier 2
2013-2016: New Tier 2 (changed jobs)
16/12/15: SET (LR) successful! - It's been a long road...
12/05/16: Citizenship ceremony!

Thanks for reply. I am confused how to answer questions 6.7 and 6.12.
Q6.7  BRP enclosed? yes or no
and if not enclosed state the location of BRP:
Q6.12  If BRP is not enclosed please give details why you are unable to provide it:

What reason I will give for not enclosing BRP? Will it be enough to say ''copy of BRP certified by NCS enclosed.'' ?

Honestly, the only reason not to enclose is it you have travel booked...

Just answer the questions! There aren't too many wrong answers; naturalisation is almost less scrutinised than any of your other applications!
