Help I'm BROKE! Does my income in the U.S. matter?
« on: September 08, 2016, 12:22:18 AM »
Wondering about this...
My fiance meets the financial requirements to sponsor me, and then some.
My issue is I am self employed and my business as of now is is significantly in the hole. 😞
I'm thinking of closing up my shop as soon as I am ready to move with my love across the pond.
Will this affect me poorly if I show my income? Or should I just tick 'no' saying I'm not working, since I probably won't be for much longer.
Just wanted to know if this could be looked at negatively when I apply.
Again, he has a decent job, and makes well over the required gross income.
Thoughts, information and suggestions? Please?
😁

Your income is completely irrelevant to the application and Sheffield don't care whether you are employed or not. They aren't even allowed to consider your income when deciding your application.

It's just a generic question on the online application and you don't need to show any evidence of your income - the online form should just ask whether you are employed or not, so just tell the truth (I.e. Don't say you are unemployed if you are actually working), give the details, and then move to the next question.

Just looking at the paper version of the online form (which can be used for reference only), I can't even see any questions about your employment... Though I believe the online form does ask if you are employed or not.
