Visa Processing Times - Longer Than Expected
« on: October 17, 2016, 07:57:13 PM »
Just a data point here...

I applied on-line for my settlement visa June 21, and submitted my biometrics and financial background info July 8 via high cost UPS courier (to make sure it got there).
Processing times were stated to be 30 working days at the time.

We had flights booked for October 6...seemed pretty safe at the time.

We started getting nervous when mid September came but the visa did not come.

Luckily, I found a link for sending emails to the visa support center (centre), and after a few tries, the support center said they'd "elevate" my request.

Long story short...my visa arrived at 7:13 pm then night before my flight.

Moral of the story:  Apply early...it may take longer than expected.

CA Joe

Congratulations!

But I think moral of story is don't buy tickets till you have the visa.  My documents were received 4 days before yours and nothing still, and I'm one of the shorter waits still.

Joe, I've tried to elevate my case several times and no one has helped. My app was received July 11th, same time as yours I think? What link did you use to escalate? Congrats btw!!!

We're having the same issue - we've had my wife's case escalated three times now I think, and they just keep blowing us off. Going to try again at the end of the week because this is getting silly.

Also, congrats Joe!

Have you guys seen the June thread?

I have only just had my decision email sent after an 86 day ( over 17 week wait) unfortunately it is just taking that long.
