Oooooo, I remember you saying that was a possibility! Seriously, you are the coolest person I know - except I wouldn't have a clue if I was standing next to you in the checkout at Tesco!
We WILL need updates. And maybe some penguin selfies?
Lol - thanks

. Will do my best re: updates and selfies. Just not sure how good the internet will be, since it's apparently like old-school dial-up.
We've been told no Skype and no instant messaging - because they just won't work. Basic webmail may load... or it may not, and Facebook might just work... occasionally. So, at this point, I don't know if I will be able to get UK-Y to load there or not.
Fabulous!!!
Are you excited?
Thanks

. Excited, but also not quite sure if I'm ready to go yet

.
Just got my flight confirmations through yesterday - 4 flights just to get there (Day 1: Heathrow-Madrid, Madrid-Santiago, Santiago-Punta Arenas on day 1. Day 2: Punta Arenas-Antarctica... if the weather is good enough for the Rothera plane to fly that day - if it's not, I could be stuck in Chile for up to a few days).
What event is taking you to Antarctica Ksand? That sounds amazing! Have always wanted to go. Saw a documentary about people who live and work there through the Summer and the real hard core ones that tough it out through Winter as well. You are hard core Ksand - I love it!
Thanks

. I'll be one of those people living and working there over the summer (at the Rothera Research Station on the Antarctic Peninsula). I don't think I could do a winter - you're stuck down there for 18 months (Oct/Nov 2016 to April 2018)!
I'll be forecasting the weather for the pilots who flying people in and out of Antarctica (to/from Chile), and also for the pilots flying between the various research stations/field camps.
