Tesco now selling cornbread

We have Morrison's and Tesco where I live, plus Sainsbury's and Waitrose in a nearby town, and I have never seen cornmeal in any of them.

Maybe a regional thing? Or was it actually polenta? (As an aside, my spell-check wants "polenta" to be "tadpole"......)

I was messaging my MIL a few minutes ago (on something unrelated) and she said that the cornmeal she purchased was indeed labeled "cornmeal". I found it on Morrison's website (and Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury). It's a Caribbean brand called, "Island Sun Coarse Cornmeal". They also have one that's a fine grain. So, it does indeed exist. She lives in a town about 10 miles from Wigan so I imagine it's not too hard to find. But, it's on the major chain's websites for under £1 for 500g so it's worth a try.

Like I said, it's an ingredient in carribean cooking, and possibly Indian cooking as well.   It's everywhere. 

Interestingly, so is semolina, or as I know it, Cream of Wheat.  I loved it as a kid and still eat it often but I don't think anyone else here eats it for breakfast.
