Hello everyone,

You have been a great help in the previous two posts i have made so for that i want to say thank you!

I am coming very close to mailing all of my documents to my fiancee so that she can file her fiance visa application from the USA and i wanted to check with you all that i have everything that is expected of me.

All of the below i have next to me with the exception of Bank statements (which are in there way to me in the mail from my bank) and a Certified Copy of my Passport (which i will be getting this weekend).

I will present them in the order i have laid them out in my file.

1: Official Forms (Sponsorship Undertaking form, including the second page for use by the Home Office).

2: Letter Front Page

3: Remainder of Letter (with evidence included in each section).

1.   My eligibility to support this application

Evidence: Certified Copy of passport.

2.   Our Relationship

a.   History

Evidence: Paragraph explaining how we met and how our relationship evolved.

b.   Choice of UK over US

Evidence: A few bullet points of text.

c.   Photographic evidence

Evidence: 11 Photographs taken in different locations across the 10 years we have been together.

d.   Proof of ongoing contact

Evidence:

Screenshot (x1) of MSN Messenger Conversation from 2007.
Screenshots (x4) of email inbox, showing emails from 2006-2011 (approx).
Screenshot (x1) of our Facebook engagement announcement, showing dates etc from 2014.
A selection of physical cards sent between us over the years.
Screenshot (x1) of a Skype conversation from November 2016.
Screenshots (x9) of WhatsApp conversations from various points within 2016 (can't see date on 3 of them).
My mobile phone bill from July 2016, demonstrating me calling my fiancee.
Multiple (x6) landline phone bills from throughout 2016 demonstrating me calling my fiancee.

e.   Travel history

Evidence:  Boarding passes and tickets from my visits (x4) to see her. She will be adding hers to the file, meaning there will be another 4/5 added to this from her visits to me.

f.   Plans to marry

Evidence:

Printed email correspondence with our chosen venue.
Printed contract reserving the date.
Printed receipt from the local registry office.
Printed booking confirmation from the local registry office.

3.   Financial Requirements

Evidence:

Signed letter from employer detailing my employment, including salary.
Previous 8 Payslips.
Bank statements for all accounts across at least the required period (6 months).

4.   Accommodation

Evidence:

Signed letter from the home owner (my mother) confirming that she allows us to live here rent free.
Land registry title (obtained from the land registry website) demonstrating that my mother owns the house.
Original mortgage statement for 2016.
x2 Utility Bills, one from 2016 and one from 2017.

I hope what i have is enough. I am immensely grateful to anyone who could confirm this or give me advice.

Regards

1: Official Forms (Sponsorship Undertaking form, including the second page for use by the Home Office).

There are no official forms for you to include.

The Sponsorship Undertaking Form does not apply to fiance or spousal visas, so you can take it out. Your fiance should be filling out the online application and Appendix 2, not you.

2.   Our Relationship

a.   History

Evidence: Paragraph explaining how we met and how our relationship evolved.

b.   Choice of UK over US

Evidence: A few bullet points of text.

This sounds like too much. The choice of UK over US should just be one sentence within the paragraph.

For example,

My fiance and I met on X date and (if met online) met in person on Y date. We entered into a relationship on Z date. We keep in contact by (visits and other means of contact). We got engaged on A date and wish to marry in B location on C date. We have decided to settle in the UK because (your reason).

c.   Photographic evidence

Evidence: 11 Photographs taken in different locations across the 10 years we have been together.

Take out all except 1 or 2 photos. You only need to show you have met at least once in person.

d.   Proof of ongoing contact

This is all good, but if you can, don't include any actual conversations in the screenshots - just dates and times is fine.

Evidence:

Signed letter from employer detailing my employment, including salary.
Previous 8 Payslips.
Bank statements for all accounts across at least the required period (6 months).

Just make sure that you have 6 full months of payslips and bank statements and that every single payslip shows on the bank statements.

I would also include your original job contract and latest P60. Now mandatory, but the guidance says they may ask for them, so it's a good idea to include them anyway.

4.   Accommodation

Evidence:
x2 Utility Bills, one from 2016 and one from 2017.

You don't need any bills as they do not prove homeownership (anyone can be on them).

Oh, ok. It was linked on the .gov website for the visa. Why exactly isn't it relevant?

Thank you, i will narrow it down. Presumably there is no penalty for detail?

Where possible that is what i have done. Again presumably it isn't a bad thing (other than for maybe privacy) if some conversations are shown?

Thank you for the help :)

It is only to be used in exceptional circumstances - namely adult dependant and elderly dependant relative visas... where you have to prove the applicant cannot take care of themselves and cannot work, and therefore is completely physically and financially dependant on you.

Not really, but they don't care how much you love each other or your personal feelings, so keep it short and sweet. You just need to show you have met at least once, have been in regular contact while apart and plan to marry in the UK.

No, not a bad thing, but as above, they don't need to know what you say to each other, just that you speak regularly.

It's a tick-box visa... the letter is just to describe how you meet each requirement and what evidence you have to support them. They will read it and tick it off as 'sponsor letter included'.

Same with your relationship evidence - a quick read-through and a tick in the box for regular contact.

That makes sense, thank you for clearing it up.

Haha, i wouldn't subject them to that! What a cruel punishment to read that all day.

Good to know. Almost makes you wonder why priority exists if it seems so clear cut. Of course we will be doing priority anyway as we are on a tight schedule for a number of reasons.

All priority processing does is allow you to cut the line (we liken it to a Disneyland Fastpass). It might only take a couple of hours to make the decision, but if there are hundreds of applications waiting in line ahead of you, it could take up to a few weeks for them to even look at your application.

By paying for priority, you skip most of that wait and it generally saves at least a couple of weeks in processing time.

For example, people who applied in November with priority processing got their visas in a couple of weeks. People who didn't use priority processing are only just getting their visas now, in 2 months.
