turnaround times for citizenship applications / passport?
« on: February 23, 2017, 07:27:29 PM »
Just curious if anyone has an idea how long it takes for them to process citizenship applications at the moment? (I am down on the Kent coast).

Also, once citizenship is granted how long it might take to get a UK passport?

Not sure exactly at the moment, but generally it's about 4 months or so.

You can read through this thread (on a different immigration forum) for some recent/current timelines:

A first UK passport takes at least 6 weeks.

If you use NCS, you can now apply for citizenship AND your first passport at the same time.

Once you attend your ceremony, you have your interview and the passport is done.  Only takes about a week or so if you do it that way.

Oh, cool - I didn't realise you could do that now :). Thanks for the info :).

Thanks ksand24 and KFdancer,

Yeah, I noticed on one of the posts over there that they have the date of their application for a passport at the same time. I will do this as well.
