Spouse visa expiring
« on: February 25, 2017, 10:05:23 AM »
Hello everyone

So my spouse visa to the U.K. Is going to expire on 17th of April 2018 and I wanted to make sure I have all info on what I need to do before hand...
First. when is the earliest that I can submit my application?
Second. Which form do I need to use or apply for? Is it for indefinite leave to remain?
Third. Any help is well appreciated!!!

Thank you in advanced

The earliest you can apply is 28 days prior to your 30 month anniversary in the UK.  The only thing you can do now really is be collecting mail, as that's how you'll prove you and your spouse have been living together for the past 2.5 years.

Your next application will be FLR(M).  You'll qualify for ILR after 5 years.

Alright thanks for the info!!
We are doing as much as we can to collect mail but we live with his mother at the moment and don't have utilities bills to our names but we just bought a house well my husband did so I guess that would help us to get stuff in our names

Also what is the difference between the 2 years 5 years and 10 years route I am
Not understanding?? My husband wants me to obtain my citizenship here in Britain so we don't have to be applying for a new visa every so many years... how long do I need to stay in order to qualify to apply for British citizenship??

Anyone knows??

Five years.

The two year path ended in 2012.

The 10 year path is for exceptional circumstances.
