Introduction letter
« on: April 01, 2017, 06:04:11 PM »
This should be my last question, but what exactly needs to go into the Introduction letter from me(the applicant) for my Family of a settled person visa? I have it all written up, I just want to be sure it's correct. I am applying in roughly 2 weeks so the nerves are starting to build up something fierce. Does it need to be typed and printed or is it better to send a hand written copy to show that it's actually from me, in my own hand writing?

Typed and signed is fine.

Applicant letters are only really used if you have special
Circumstances you want to explain. I included one because I had been living abroad and wanted to explain so that it didn't look like we were just applying so I didn't have to live in America!

Keep brief don't go overboard on relationship history. Others on the site will tell you not to include it at all unless like I said you have stuff in the application you want to explain.
Met Dublin Ireland- July 2013

Married 😍 in NYC :6th of January 2017

Applied FLR(M)-  12th January 2020

Types then signed is just fine.

This letter is just a brief intro on you and what's being included in your application.

It's your chance to go into detail on why you chose your date (if need be) and if there are any weird things bout your app that make it not straightforward.

When I applied for a Marriage Settlement visa this was where I included our wedding details and info about my previous refusal.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I am doing an introduction letter because of our special circumstances.

Basically, I anticipated objections/concerns from immigration. I gave a brief summary of our relationship, addressed the unique aspects of our situation, and explained them. I also explained why our special circumstances still constitute a genuine relationship that meets the criteria. (We are including a LOT of extra paperwork to document all of these circumstances.)

But do try to keep it brief. :)

Good luck!
