Help with appendix vs application!
« on: June 03, 2017, 05:43:22 PM »

I am  not understanding the part of the appendix in appendix 2 that asks about my financials. I thought it was based on my fiancees income. I am currently employed and will use my savings to help with the app fees and living costs. Does the application and appendix 2 need to be sent electronically? Or just the initial fiancee application? I am so confused. The rest of the paperwork we are good to Go!

Thank you for your help!x

Are you the applicant or the UK sponsor? Appendix 2 does not ask any questions about the applicant's income - it only asks about the UK sponsor's income.

- The online application is submitted online and then printed out and mailed with your documents (it does not go anywhere when you submit it, so no one will see it until you mail it)

- The Appendix 2 application is printed out, filled in by hand, and mailed with your documents, along with the printed online application.

Appendix 2 is the second half of the application form, so the application is not complete unless you mail both the online application and Appendix 2 together.

Only the online application should ask for the applicant's employment details - but that's just a generic question and has no bearing on the visa decision. You just fill in what is true on the date you apply online.

Appendix 2 ONLY asks about your UK sponsor's employment income, and it's where you show you meet the visa requirements. Only their employment income will be considered for the visa.

Thank you! Just one more thought on the application process. Is there a separate sheet to print out once I make my biometrics appt? I am a little confused what I hand to the biometrics  person. Thank you so much! We are very close!x

When you book your biometrics appointment online, you should get an appointment confirmation. I'm not sure if this comes through as an email or if it's on the application site, or both, but you print it out and then take it and your passport with you to the biometrics.

At the appointment, they will check your ID (Passport), stamp your appointment confirmation, take your fingerprints and photo, and send you home.

You then place your passport and stamped confirmation with your printed application forms and supporting documents, and mail them to Sheffield within 5 days of the biometrics appointment.

I would not advise submitting your online application until you have EVERY supporting document in your hands and are completely ready to mail everything to Sheffield.

If you post a list of all your documents here, we can check to make sure you're not missing anything :).

On the application site, you will click a button to generate the confirmation page that you need to print and take. It will have a barcode on it. The emails you receive do not have barcodes and thus will not work  :)

Here's what the confirmation email said on December 2016 (when I did mine):
Quote
Your Biometric Enrolment Appointment

When attending your appointment you must take with you a print out of your appointment confirmation letter (this should be printed in the View Appointment Button above the “Print Your Application Button”) Passport/travel document. Your application will not be accepted at any other location. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, if you arrive earlier, you may not be admitted to the application centre. If you arrive after your scheduled appointment time, you may be asked to re-book a future appointment.

Edit to add - It doesn't say you need to bring your application, but the center I went to wouldn't let me in without the entire thing, even though they didn't even glance at it! I had to go to the library and print it out. I'd suggest you bring it just in case.
