Hi, newbie not familiar with usa to uk immigration system. Partner is over 70 so not sure what income rules apply and saving rules apply.

Check list of requirements and type of visa to apply for on the basis we wi'll marry in future would be really helpful

My circumstances are cannot work due to neuro illness. Fighting for PIP but so far only eligible for ESA. No current savings .

Direction  to look at which visa and requirements much appreciated ro start us correctly in this process. Many thanks

Hello and welcome.  :)

In order to be exempt from the financial requirements, you would have to be in receipt of one of the following benefits.

Quote

Carer’s Allowance.

Disability Living Allowance.

Severe Disablement Allowance.

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit.

Attendance Allowance.

Personal Independence Payment.

Armed Forces Independence Payment or Guaranteed Income Payment under the
Armed Forces Compensation Scheme.

Constant Attendance Allowance, Mobility Supplement or War Disablement Pension
under the War Pensions Scheme.

And further, you would actually have to either marry first in another country and apply directly for the spouse visa or apply for the fiance visa and be prepared to marry within 6 months.

Alternatively if you have savings (can be yours, USC, or combined of £62,500), you can qualify.   :)

The Police disabillity pension is being added to that list, it was in the last lot of immigration changes.
