Proof of Genuine Relationship
« on: June 06, 2017, 09:37:21 PM »
Me again!
I tried searching for this topic everywhere, but most of them are from 10 years ago... but my apologies if this has been answered already.

So, for those who have helped me with my application, thank you again! The application is going more smoothly than I thought :)

My question today is the amount of proof we need to have for our relationship.
So this is the list of documents I am going to send:

- marriage certificate

- pictures:
We have been together for two years, so I'm thinking 3-4 pictures of us together, and 2-3 pictures of us with friends. Am I allowed to just print them all our on A4 size paper? And maybe put dates on them or something...?

- Letter from friend/manager: My husband and I met at my current work, and I thought it would be good to get a short paragraph from my manager (who is also my friend of 4 years).

- chat history: I'm not sure what to do for this... can anyone suggest how much I should give them, or if any? I do not have much of our messages at the beginning of our relationship because we only talked on whatsapp, and I got a new phone (and my old one broke so I can't get to my old messages...).
And am I allowed to black out our messages to each other? And keep just our names?

- Itinerary of trips

- We also got married very recently, so I'm going to write a short letter explaining why we JUST got married... I'm sure it doesn't make a difference, but I want to make sure to prove that we didn't get married because of convenience (we have been fiances for a year).

Any advice helps! I also over think a lot, so if any of my questions sound ridiculous, sorry! I just want to get this visa  :-\\\\
Thank you x

Relationship history should be
1. Marriage license
2. 1-2 pictures(I printed mine on paper and wrote a bit about where we were and the date) but don't over kill this part!
3. Chat history-if you have been apart so this can be: whatsap, Skype, Facebook messenger, email etc. Doesn't have to be content just the logs to show when you contacted them is fine.
4. Any proof you have lived together if you have or boarding passes or flight confirmations of flights you have taken to see each other.

Letters from other people will not be considered so don't include it! And you dont need to explain why you got married a short time ago. A lot of us did the quick marriage and apply for a visa. Very normal.

As the wise ones on here say this a tick box visa. Give them what they ask for an no more you don't get extra credit for extra stuff! lol

To clarify: you already live together in the UK and you are switching from a Tier 5 visa to FLR(M)?

- pictures:
We have been together for two years, so I'm thinking 3-4 pictures of us together, and 2-3 pictures of us with friends. Am I allowed to just print them all our on A4 size paper? And maybe put dates on them or something...?

You only need 2 photos maximum. Only you and your husband in them, and none with friends at all. You just need to show you have met at least once in person.

Also, photos are only needed if you are applying by post. If it's an in-person appointment, you both attend, so no need to provide a photo.

Don't include this. It cannot be considered.

Only a letter from your sponsor can be considered for the visa... and that's not even a requirement for FLR(M) anyway.

If you live together currently, you do not need to include any chat history or trip evidence at all... because your relationship proof is your 'up to' 6 documents showing you live together.

If you were to include chat history, it should only be 1-2 sheets of paper showing a list of dates and times. No message content should be included.

Nope, no need for this either.

However, it can go in your husband's sponsor letter if he decides to include one - he should outline how you meet each requirement of the visa:
- finances
- accommodation
- short relationship history

_________________________________________________ _____________

So, in short, as you already live together and you are applying for FLR(M) from inside the UK, all you need to send for relationship evidence is:

- marriage certificate
- 1 or 2 photos
- your 6 documents showing you live together (or less, if you don't have 6 yet)

Plus, your sponsor can include a letter of support, but this is not a mandatory document and people have been approved without one.

As they already live together in the UK and are applying for FLR(M), this list does not apply.

Instead of evidence of communication, they provide the required (up to) 6 documents proving they live together in the UK - which has already been discussed in the OP's other thread.

No worries :).

I remembered they were applying for FLR(M) and was trying to post to clarify that before anyone gave advice for a US-based application... but you got in there just before me :P.
