Savings route question for spouse visa
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:10:33 PM »
Hi guys. We are applying for the spouse visa via the savings route because we have the full amount in savings. So will the Home Office also ask us for the letter from my husband's employer and pay slips if we are taking the savings route only? I ask because there was someone on this forum who commented that they also applied under the savings category but home office asked them to send the sponsor's letter from his employer and payslips. Please can anyone guide me because I am applying in two weeks and I need to know what to hand in.

That case was an anomaly and we think UKVI made an error.
If you have the whole amount in savings all you need to provide is 6 months of original bank statements, the most recent of which must be dated within 28 days of the online application.

That case was an anomaly and we think UKVI made an error.

And they were also applying for a different visa - an FLR(M) extension visa from inside the UK. They were using a combination of the US citizens' 401K savings and rental income from a house they own.

We have no idea why they were asked for payslips and bank statements, especially as the ones they asked for were for a time period that couldn't even be considered for the visa (January-December 2016)!
