It was a bit surreal. My mom told me while I was at work and I just, couldn't stop thinking about it. Teared up a bit and just got stuck into my book on the way home so I didn't cry on public transportation.
No, I won't be going to the funeral. It'll be in Texas and I simply can't afford the last minute flight or to miss work. My employer is "awesome" when it comes to this sort of thing.
Just needed to put it out there somewhere since I don't have a ton of people to talk to during our normal hours.
