Northern Ireland
« on: September 25, 2017, 09:47:16 AM »
So I moved to Northern Ireland on a spouse settlement visa in May! My husband and I are planning to fly back to the States in November for Thanksgiving, but have booked flights from Dublin.

As I entered Ireland from the UK (and my passport has many old Dublin stamps), how do I best go about flying out of ROI without looking like I have been illegally living in their country?

I am from the west coast of the US and it is SO much easier to fly from Dublin than from the UK.
Married in NI: 30 Dec 2016

You picked up your BRP after you arrived on your spouse visa, yes?  Where did you enter through on this arrival?
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

There shouldn't be any problem, then.  Just have your passport and BRP when you return and it will be fine.  :)

The only time arriving through Ireland is an issue is on your first entry, because you need that initial UK entry stamp to pick up your BRP.  You got that in Gatwick, and now you have your BRP in hand, so no worries.
