Anyone else watched Star Trek Discovery?
« on: September 26, 2017, 01:20:40 PM »
Brand new Star Trek series on Netflix!

The whole CZ family sat down and watched the first episode last  night.  I’ll try not to spoil too much, but apparently Aung San Suu Kyi has been cast as the Captain and she is mega annoying.  And they jumped the shark so hard in the very first episode that even my 10 year old kid was disappointed.

We’ll probably keep watching though as the first season of TNG was pretty awful as well.

DH and I are watching it. This week's ep was SO much better than the double ep from last week. I was really unsure having watched the first hour and half having ZERO idea of where they were going, but I feel much better about it now. DH is disappointed Jason Isaacs doesn't have a British accent and isn't the villain (although maybe he is a little bit???).

Star Trek night is tonight!  It’s great seeing my boy enjoying watching it as a new show rather than old re runs.

I’m glad you posted about this, I thought you were a Trekkie.  What about your kids?

You *might* be remembering my Geordie costume from the Star Trek con that I posted awhile back, haha. Yeah, I'm a bit of a Trekkie. My kids haven't watched it as DH and I generally use post-bedtime as "us watching a show together" time. But yeah, they would probably like it.

Yeah, that’s what I thought.  I remember.

Good luck with the grown up tv watching time.  Fight for that as hard as you can.  There’s nothing worse than when the kids get old enough to think their bed time is the same as yours!   No more privacy!

At that time I might have to break down and allow a TV in our bedroom!
