Anyone ever use BSM?
« on: December 07, 2004, 11:06:32 AM »
Has anyone ever used the BSM driving school?  Or any other driving school in NW London?  I would like to start looking at school for the new year...

And also how many lessons would you suggest for someone who has driven a stick for many years (since 17 & I'm 35 right now)...

Ta!

I used the AA (tried VERY hard NOT to think Alcoholics Anonymous)

£12 per hour (per lesson)  My instructor was GREAT!  He went with me to my test and I passed the first time!!

I had only 4 lessons --I just needed to "tone down my American driving habits" and get into the habit of MIRROR  - SIGNAL  - MANEUVER.

They REALLY stress that!  and I did notice they LOOK at you CHECKING the mirrors when testing.  Another thing is the wheel -- FEED the wheel and don't hand over hand.  I knew how to drive a manual already so that wasn't a BFD.  Another thing to remember is to STAY OFF the clutch -- put in the clutch until you ALMOST come to a stop.  They watched that too.

Good luck!!! [smiley=clover2.gif]

I was scared as HELL before I took the test -- now I'm out of the house before the husband unit is out of bed!  (I like to do the shopping by myself  ;D )

The DH used BSM in Newcastle and liked them.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I know the AAs prices depend on the area but that's cheap, it cost me £22 per hour with them here.

My husband used BSM. I used their study material. They are pretty good.
I have never taken a lesson. I passed my test the first time at 8 months pregnant  ;D . I have been driving over 20 years. I didnt find the test difficult at all. Maybe the examiner was afraid I would go into labor if he failed me. lol
Best of luck!
