Multi Quote Messages
« on: October 07, 2017, 10:16:28 PM »
Hello,

Is there anyway of getting a multi quote link or functionality added to the forum so we are able to multi-quote messages and then reply to them at once?

At the moment you have to reply to a message and then scroll down and insert quotes to other messages.

Thanks,

Honestly, I don't find it that much of a hassle to do it the current way.

I just scroll down and click 'quote' on all the messages I want to quote, so they get inserted into the same message box, and then type my reply underneath them.

Doesn't take more than a few extra seconds to quote several posts compared to just one.

You do have a point - would have been nice to have that feature there along side the quote link. But i guess that is something to consider, if not possible then i guess we'll just have to live with how the forum works at the moment.

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's something that is possible or not.

This is how I do it as well. Only other way I could picture doing it is how Reddit does it [https://www.reddit.com/wiki/commenting] but I'm not sure if you could implement that here or not.

That method doesn’t seem to work for me. As soon as I click quote on a post it takes me out of the thread into a reply post. I do like forum software where there is a quote and a multi-quote button at the top of each post.

Same for me, but you can see the most recent posts just below the reply box, so you can just scroll down and click on 'Insert Quote' at the top of one you want to quote and it appears in the reply box where you left your cursor. The page does jump back up to the reply box each time though, so you do have to scroll down again to insert the next quote.

Like so (quoting the last 3 replies from the reply box page):

Scroll down. If you look below that you should see 'insert quote' next to all the other posts on that page.
