Stamped into Ireland
« on: October 27, 2017, 11:01:44 PM »
So my spouse and I went on a quick getaway to Dublin and the Irish officials stamped me into the country. Upon return, there was no passport control so there are no stamps to show me back into the UK. We were only gone for three days, and I am applying for ILR a year from November. Will the lack of being stamped back into the UK from ireland be a problem? If so, what do I do to fix the situation? Thank you in advance!

Just hold onto your boarding pass. That's the easiest solution if you're queried about it later.

You likely won't be, but again, hold onto your proof to be safe.

The UK and Ireland are part of the Common Travel Area.

So Irish and British people can travel back and forth between the two countries without passport checks. Passport stamping for non-Irish/British may be somewhat random. The border guard in Ireland may have been just keeping up appearances. Anyway, I would keep a record of your flight/trip back to the UK just in case.
