Final Document check before appointment tomorrow
« on: November 28, 2017, 06:31:32 PM »
There's a boom of these today! Here's what I've got to take in. All of my stuff is official or original or certified or verified etc. lol.

Cover letter seemed a good place to mention the slight hiccup with tax transcripts but I'd appreciate thoughts on whether it's necessary or can even be considered in this format.

On top of the letter I included the visa I'm applying for, my full name and GWF number.

I'm also wondering if I need to include a copy of the e-mailed IHS number (I got a receipt and a message with just the number) as I don't see it mentioned in the printed app.?

Oh and also, I know that date is crazy. Not sure what I was thinking. I guess I wanted to push the limits of the Gold processing.

To The Entry Clearance Officer,

Please find enclosed my application and supporting documents for a settlement visa to join my husband in the United Kingdom. I would like my visa vignette to start on December 1, 2017 as per my Intended Travel Date listed on the online application.

Note regarding supporting documents: I was unable to obtain tax transcripts from the IRS for the years 2011 and 2012. I was able to print a copy of the returns and get official bank statements showing External Deposit US Treasury - TAX REF in the exact dollar amounts on the returns.

The following documents are included in this package:

- Printed application
- VAF4a Appendix 2
- Current passport and 2 previous passports
- Settlement GOLD service receipt
- Biometrics sheet
- Sponsor letter of support
- Notarized copy of sponsor’s passport photo page
- 2 passport style photos

Relationship Documents:

- Marriage certificate
- 2 personal photos
- Statutory Warranty Deed for 2014 purchase of our home
- Escrow account statements for our home 2015, 2016, 2017
- Joint tax return transcripts from the IRS 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
- Copies of tax returns for 2011 and 2012 w/stamped bank statements

Accommodation Documents:

- Tenancy agreement
- Letter from landlord granting permission to occupy the property

Financial Documents:

- Letter confirming offer of employment
- 12 months pay slips
- Letter from previous employer verifying pay slip copies
- 12 months bank statements

As always, thanks so much in advance!!

I'm not sure if it's actually necessary as it's not an 'official' document being used for the financial requirements or anything, but I don't think there's any harm in including it. I really don't think you need to include the bank statements showing the returns though... the only reason for including the tax returns at all is just to show you both filed from the same address.

You do need to include the IHS number - so you should write it on the application form in pen, and you can include the payment receipt if you like as well.

Your documents look fine to me - I can't see anything that could be missing :).

I'm not sure how the Gold service will work, but they may end up arranging your documents into a particular order at your appointment.

Ok great! Thank you! I think I will exclude the bank statements and paragraph about them and just change the wording in the contents to "Joint tax returns and transcripts from 2006 - 2016" as it bugs the daylights out of me and I'm more than happy not to address it.

I just have everything in a neat pile and a few paper clips for really unruly papers. I'll try to take note of how they arrange things, if they do.

I did make a bunch of copies and I think that is what they actually mail to Sheffield, allowing me to keep originals as part of the service. I wonder if they would have made the copies for me too but I already had them done. I'll ask just so folks will know if they can skip that step at home.

So now that that appears to be sorted, I'm working on the TOR and it's almost as much of a nightmare haha!

I'll be on here tomorrow asap to share how things go! Thanks a million, my nerves are a bit less frazzled for the reassurance!
