California Service Centre timelines
« on: November 23, 2004, 02:41:39 PM »
Hi all,

Just thought I'd post an update to my case...  After being denied the DCF filing method (due to my wife not having lived here for "long enough", even though she is a full UK resident), we have filed the I-130 application to the Texas Service Centre.  They received our application on October 12th, 2004, and then forwarded the application to the California Service Centre which receipted us on October 26th, 2004 (so we've received the NOA!) - the TSC is still forwarding all I-130 applications to the CSC, apparently...  Now we're waiting for them to process...  I've studied the published time lines given by the CSC, and here's what I've found...

1st November 2003 @ 15th July 2004
1st April 2004 @ 18th August 2004
1st August 2004 @ 17th September 2004
2nd August 2004 @ 22nd September 2004
31st August 2004 @ 6th October 2004
2nd September 2004 @ 21st October 2004
2nd September 2004 @ 8th November 2004
2nd September 2004 @ 19th November 2004

The dates on the left are the receipt dates that they are processing for, and the dates on the right are the dates that they published the figures.  As you can see things were proceeding along quite nicely...  Until I filed my application and typically they are now stuck again...  Not sure if the elections had anything to do with it, possibly?

Anyone have a response to their application filed just prior to (or even just after) September 2nd??

Thanks!

S.

Since I didn't go through this process I've got nothing to add other than hugs, and thanks for the update - please keep us informed of what happens! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks :)

Still doesn't look like anything is moving...  It's changed to September 13th (so presumably they've processed 1 week of I-130's in 3 months...  but then again they might simply have stopped informing the outside world for now.  Quite frustrating as they were moving along really quickly, then suddenly stopped just before reaching my application!  According to ImmigrationFocus though, apparently they've approved petitions submitted upto September 20th, which means their online processing dates can't be all that accurate!

They should have an automatically updated website that shows the date of the most recent application approved...  It's not that difficult to setup, and it would really help reduce the stress and worry that comes from simply not knowing what's going on!!!

Thanks!

S.

Keep us posted!

Hi guys!

Thanks for the support :)

Just saw that the CSC processing time just jumped to October 21st, yay!!  Only problem I have now is what date the CSC is talking about...  According to my NOA, it says "Received Date" of October 12th, but "Receipt Date" of October 26th!  I talked to someone at the National Customer Service Centre, and they said to take the "Received Date" into account when looking at dates, which means they must be processing my application *right now*!!

Unfortunately, I don't really trust the NCSC, as I'm sure different Service Centres have different interpretations of what things mean (from the experience that every US Immigration Officer has different thoughts on everything!)...  So, now I'm a bit in limbo...  I wish the date had jumped to the 27th - then there wouldn't be any ambiguity! ;)

Anyway, anyone know what the process is (and how long it's taken) for Approval of I-130 (in the USA - *not* DCF!) and actually getting an appointment at the Embassy and getting the visa?

Thanks! :)

S.
