Issue with VFS Global for Gold Settlement Service
« on: November 27, 2017, 09:06:06 AM »
I paid for my Visa and IHS fee, no problems and email confirmations came right through. I have my appointment at the premium office booked for Wednesday. I paid for the service, got a "successful transaction" page that was redirecting for a very long time before timing out. I never received an email, and still have the "register with commercial partner" tab showing black instead of the green when items are complete on ukvi site. When I try to "track status of previous order" on VFS, it either shows it in my cart but with no option to pay for it (and oddly $0 due), or just says I don't exist. None of the other options work either and it's too soon to post anything to my bank to see if it went through. I think I read that they cancel your appt. if it's not paid online in 3 hours (it's been over that). I'm at a total loss on what is happening or what to do.

I'm off for the night, but hoping something shows up by morning. If you guys have any ideas, please let me know. I'm so frustrated with the whole thing right now.  :-\\\\

Oh no 😮 I would definitely try and call your bank no matter what ! See if they can see the transition even before it posted Or if worse comes to worse they can cancel the card ! I'm so sorry this has happened .. wishing you best of luck !!!!

So awesome to hear everything went good and anything bad was avoided !!!!!!

I have questions as I'm planing on applying for gold

Do you get faster processing then reg priority?

How does the passport thing work ? Do you get to travel at all let alone the uk ?

Any perks over reg priority?

Will definitely ask how the passport thing works and find out about U.K. travel. I found this little infographic that had more detail than I'd seen so far  https://imgur.com/TCSCcdg

I'm curious to see if your application is placed at the front of the priority queue in Sheffield (I hope it is) or if it's at the back of the priority queue (which would mean the service adds no value).

I suspect you'll have a fast turnaround and be able to travel for Christmas (if desired).  Looking forward to the report!

I'm very curious about that too! We know it's a gamble and could turn out to be a waste but trying to be happy with the stuff we know the service to offer, (expensive somewhat minor conveniences  :P).

With the advice I've received here over the years though, I'll be glad to be able to contribute some information, whichever way it goes.

Dani, I replied to your Gold Appointment post with my experiences in DC so I won't repeat that here. I will say, I had the same panic because after submitting the application I never got a confirmation from VFS. We emailed them and were told they couldn't confirm until the week of the appointment. I didn't get an email confirming the appointment until less than 24 hours before. Now that everything is in Sheffield's hands, we get to play the waiting game.

I'm guessing this is a result of teething issues with the appqrently new service, so (maybe) don't panic if you don't get an email confirming the appointment.

Hey Kelvin! Glad to have someone to compare notes with! Sorry it was a bit of a mess for you too. I never got the e-mail but I was also entering information wrong to request it being re-sent  ;D. I was able to locate and print the receipt and appointment confirmation, which was lucky because there was some sort of further issue once I arrived. Something to do with the system and where I was in the process according to it. Having proof in hand that I had already paid and confirmed was really helpful!

Im very interested in your feedback on this. Can you travel to the U.K. on a tourist visa? Does it process faster? Was it worth it?

At the moment, none of the people who used the Gold service at the end of November have their visas yet... so it has been almost a month with no word. In the meantime, other people who did not use Gold service, but used priority service instead, have already got their visas in less time.

One person has managed to enter the UK using their passport, but as their visa has not been processed yet, we don't know if entering the UK has had any effect on it.
