Call and Text Logs
« on: January 16, 2018, 06:55:01 PM »
Hi y'all!  I am new to this process and trying to get my paperwork in order to file for my spouse visa in Feb or March.  Forgive me if this has been asked before.

My husband and I have been chatting since the beginning of our relationship on apps like WhatsApp and making calls through WhatsApp and FaceTime.  The problem we have encountered is that we don't have ALL the call logs and text records.  He has from November onward because he got a new phone and I have also cleared out and deleted old stuff through the year and only have from maybe August for call logs and November for WhatsApp texting.  We own property together, visit each other monthly and have plane ticket records and pictures, and have some call logs.

My question is this... Do you think this will be an issue to show a genuine relationship to immigration?  How much of the call logs and texting needs to be shown?  Is there a way to get things back if you didn't back them up (probably not)?

Hi! I made screenshots of some of our emails, fb messages/calls, Google hangout messages/calls.  A few from each year (we have been long distance almost 6 years).  We Skyped a ton but I didn't include any call logs.  I had maybe 6-8 screenshots per page and it was 4 pages.  I also included 4 pages of photos (with captions explaining the photos) and some other things like flight boarding passes (some, not all), ticket stubs of events we went to together.  It seemed to be enough because we were quickly approved with no problems.  :)

Hi,
I can't answer the question I'm afraid, but wanted to add one related of my own. I have Skype call logs from when we were in a long distance relationship, but they are literally just a list of numbers I called and the dates of the calls. So they'll see that there are lots of calls to my wife's numbers in Colombia and the US, but nothing to identify clearly that they are from my Skype account or the 'owner' of the number being called. Will that be ok? My Skype-to-Skype call log history won't go that far back and I have nothing else in terms of call records covering this period (although we have loads of emails and plane tickets etc).
Thanks very much.

That will be fine.

Thank you so much for your feedback.  We have only been together since May of last year but can definitely provide that amount of information.  Your story really encouraged my husband and I last night.   We are so ready to live together!!!
