Cannot agree more that wheels make things more bearable. Plus, I found the process of taking lessons and getting the license really gave me confidence. Heck DH even admitted I knew more about driving than he did!

I literally posted CVs days after passing my test and had a contract gig in a couple weeks. There is definitely a place for qualified workers, so don't give up.
I moved here from Redondo Beach BTW, so I can relate to much of what you are missing.
I found, before I was employed, that sometimes just getting away from the house really perked me up and got me focused. Hop that bus some morning with your laptop/tablet, get yourself to a nice cafe where you can chill, focus on job searches, looking for volunteer activities, posting on UKY
