Hi All - I have been following this forum everyday. Love the content. My husband and I are currently awaiting a reply on a priority settlement visa for the UK. We are only on business day six so it could come any day but will probably take another 1/2 weeks to hear back.

We had, about six months ago, booked plane tickets for me to come over for Valentines Day. The travel is booked and so I am eligible to apply for a limited US passport since Home Office is currently holding mine. The passport will allow me to travel anywhere where a visa is not needed. My question is is it a bad idea to enter the UK while awaiting a settlement visa decision? Would we be in a better place just letting go of the tickets? Or are there no restrictions.

Thanks!

If you enter the UK, your application will be cancelled and the fee not refunded.  You must be OUTSIDE the UK when your visa is decided for it to be valid.

What you can do is meet in a third country (France, for example.  Do not go to Ireland).  Hope that helps a bit.

Thank you! We will just be patient. A few more weeks is doable against the backdrop of forever.
