Dual nationality?

Hi, this may be a daft question but am I right in thinking that if my US husband (with ILR) completed the visa process and became a British citizen, any children born after this would not be eligible for dual nationality?

Unless your husband also pays several thousand dollars to relinquish his US citizenship, any children he has will be both British and US citizens. If born in the UK, they will be US citizens 'by decent' and if born in the US, they will be British 'by decent.' This has implications for passing on citizenship to your grandchildren.

As long as your husband doesn't renounce his US citizenship, your children will be dual citizens.

I'm the American in my marriage, and got British citizenship in 2012. My children, born in 2013 and 2015, have passports and citizenship from both the UK and US.

I would do it if I were in his shoes, if only to be done with immigration stuff.
