Quick Biometrics Appointment Question
« on: March 23, 2018, 10:19:04 PM »
Hey guys!

My fiancé and I are starting to make plans around the biometrics appointment that’s required before sending off the required paperwork for the spouse visa.

My question is.... how soon (on average) are these biometrics appointments typically scheduled after clicking “submit” on the online application? For example, would it be three, four, five business days after submitting?

If you guys could respond with your own personal experiences with how soon you were scheduled after submitting and printing the online application, that’d be helpful for us in acquiring some sort of time frame.

Also, do we absolutely HAVE to go to the biometrics appointment on the date scheduled, or could we go earlier?

Thank y’all!

Typically you'll be able to make an appointment easily within a week.
Once you have it booked, you can try walking in ahead of time, that's proved successful so far!

Usually people can get an appointment within about 2-4 days from submitting online.

You can choose where you attend biometrics though so if there are no appointments at one USCIS centre you can choose a different one.

As long as you have an appointment booked, you can do a walk-in appointment on an earlier day.

Someone else submitted their application online earlier this week but the earliest appointment they could get was a week later. So, they tried a walk-in appointment the next morning and got their biometrics done right away :).

The earliest I had available was 6 days away but I went in the day after booking and they didn’t even notice the date on the paper. I was done in 5 minutes.

Every center will be different. There was only one other person there.  (My center is in a very large metropolitan area.)

I scheduled 2 days after submitting, went in a bit early but really could have walked in first thing in the morning or even the day before. They just had me take a number and away I went!
