ILR in person soon - Questions/Checklist
« on: April 09, 2018, 10:29:45 AM »
I'm starting this thread 29 days before my in-person ILR application.  I am pretty much on top of things, but this time we'll be applying under Category B due to a recent change in employment, and we moved house during this last visa period, and I'm not sure how to treat the fact that my husband was commuting.  We're about to request bank statements and letters and things, so I thought I'd make sure I knew everything I needed.  So here are my specific questions:

Category B vs. A documentation:
1. I have original payslips going back well in excess of 12 months ago (I'll only include 12 months, of course!).  I also have the employment contract for the previous job.  Do I need a letter from the old employer, as well?

2. My husband is paid monthly at the new job.  Due to his start date, he will have one payslip before our appointment.  We'll have a printout of the contract (which is only delivered electronically, so we have no choice), and we'll have a letter confirming his employment details.  This is fine, right?  I mean, it has to be... he's already made enough for the 12 months at his old job to sponsor me and he has started the new job which pays more than the required amount.

Moved house:
1. Do we need to include any of the documentation from the old address (tenancy agreement ,etc.?), or just include the old address where asked but only provide the land registry document and mortgage statement for the new/current address?

Commuting to old job
1. After we moved in November/December 2016, my husband officially lived at our new house and received his post here, and he was home from Friday night to Monday morning.  But during the week, he was ~150 miles away in Salisbury for work.  When I include his employment details on the application, I'll have to show his work address.  Also, he kept putting off changing his address with his old employer because he was so sure he wouldn't be there long enough for it to matter (we had a redirect for any post)... so his original payslips from his old job are all addressed to the old address, but have the redirect sticker on them where they were forwarded to our new address.  So do I need to explain this?  Our application is in person, so he's going to be there to answer any questions if they have them.  Should we write a note in the application, or just ignore it and wait to see if it's a question?

No letter from previous employer.

Yes, the electronic contract is fine (it's not required, just optional).

No tenancy agreement needed for the old place, unless you want to use that as relationship proof.

Yes, land registry and mortgage statement for new house.

Honestly?  I probably wouldn't explain the difference and just see if they ask about it while you are there.  Unless there is a spot to explain on the application.

Thanks, KF!  Your response means a bit less chasing up for us.  Getting the employer letters from his old job was always a challenge.  They never quite included all of the needed information, and they were a pain to get.  I'm glad we don't have to deal with them anymore!

Most of our bank statements arrived today!  So far,

I have:

Quarterly bank statements from March 31st last year to March of 2018
Payslips from March 30th last year up to March 16th this year (from the old job)

Correspondence at same address through March of this year
Marriage certificate

Mortgage statement from last summer (which is also serving as one of our pieces of correspondence... is this a problem?)

Passports
BRP
LiUK pass certificate
Photos

I am planning to get:

A printout of the new job contract
A letter from the new employer confirming details of employment
Payslip(s) from new job (we expect just one at the end of April)
P60 should be arriving soon
The remaining bank statements through the end of April
Land registry document for our house (I'm not listed on the deed or mortgage... do I need anything from my husband to say I can live here?)

I think that's everything... what am I missing?
