Gatwick layover help
« on: July 04, 2018, 09:59:32 AM »
Hi everyone! Can't believe we're leaving this gorgeous weather to visit US relatives but we head off tomorrow!

Our flights out of Glasgow have layover in Gatwick...I did this exact flight in March by myself and it seemed at the time I did something wrong--at Gatwick I basically had to do everything all over again, security lines, immigration, etc. This time, with 3 kids in tow, I want to ask if anyone knows what I do...is there another way to the gates/food court area without having to get thru security and immigration (and deal w lines, digging thru bags for tablets etc)?

Thanks so much!
Ps- would also love some layover tips for Gatwick- 4,7,10 year old boys. Panic is setting in 😂

I have no idea about transferring there.  But they do have a softplay area in each terminal.  Might not excite the older ones but the 4 year old should be able to have some fun.

Yeah, pretty sure every airport in the UK makes you do it all again if you're transferring off an international flight.
I think Gatwick makes you leave from domestic area and it do it all again too. I'm normally on an EasyJet flight into Gawtick, and they kick you out into a baggage area and then you have to do all the security again if you're heading back on an other EasyJet flight, even in the same terminal.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Ok thank you both! I look forward to it 😆

Missed the soft play last time. I'll have a look around.
