Could they deny me a Standard Vistor Visa for the UK?
« on: August 02, 2018, 06:45:40 PM »
Hello again, dear friends!

Quick recap of my situation: I left the UK three years ago after my 2nd visa was denied and moved to Asia with my British husband. Then my father became very ill, so I am caring for him in the USA while my spouse works in London. I wish to visit him there for a few weeks. I know technically I am allowed in, but I fear getting denied due to my past situation and the suspicion aroused by a woman without a marriage visa wanting to see her partner.

Anyway, I am thinking of applying for a Standard Visitor Visa, as opposed to just showing up at the airport, to avoid being denied entry.

Does anyone know the odds of my being denied this visa for the same reasons they might not generally let me in? IE, the past problem and them thinking it's weird that I want to visit my spouse but not live in the UK? We thought this would be the best way to go, but then realized they could say no to this visa for the same reasons, making it pointless to apply.

As proof of my intention to leave and generally support myself, I can show:

1. Round trip ticket back to the USA
2. Proof of funds to support myself
3. Rental agreement for the room I have in the USA
4. Letter from father's doctors attesting to his illness

I don't have a job right now, so I can show a letter from my boss saying I have to come back.

Thank you and sorry for being repetitive! Trying to figure things out is hard.  :P

I think it's the sensible thing to do to apply for the visit visa in advance. I also think, with that evidence, you have every chance of getting it.
Good luck.
