When can you begin an online visa application ?
« on: August 04, 2018, 05:14:55 AM »
Hello Everyone,

We will be applying for a spouse visa for myself on the first of October.  I don’t plan om submitting the application till then. Could I start filling out the online application now?

My other question is if we submit the application in October 1st, what should be the date range of the bank statements we should submit. We are using our savings to meet the financial requirement.

Thank you in advance for any input.

You can save the application as you go and as far as I'm aware there is no limit to how long you can continue to do this for as long as you don't leave it too long between sign ins, so you should be able to start it any time now.

You need to provide bank statements covering a full 6 month time period and not a day less. The most recently dated must be within 28 days of the date you submit the online application.

eta. From the FAQ section on the website. You have up to 120 days to work on it. But if you do start fairly early, I would still make sure you sign in every couple of days to be on the safe side.

.How can I make changes to my application?
You can make changes to any incomplete application from the 'View My Applications' page within 120 days from the date the application was first created. After 120 days the application will become inactive and you will need to complete a new application.

Hi there! Best of luck! A word of advise, My now husband and I made a huge mistake in this area. We started our on line app thinking we could go back ever so often. We left it alone for, I think 3 weeks and they kicked out our application and we had to apply with a new e mail! I guess they do not want partial ones hanging around too long or something. I remember being devistated because I thought they rejected us. My personal opinion is start it when you have every single supporting doc in your hand ready to go. The on line app can be done when you have that and ready to submit. Just my opinion!x

We always advise that the application is not submitted until all the documents are completely ready to go but I would suggest that it is better to start looking at it at least a few weeks in advance of the planned submission date. You will want to familiarise yourself with the questions and make sure that you have all the information at hand and you don't want to have to struggle to do that with an unnecessary time restraint.  :)
