I am in the position of needing to be employed by a UK Ltd for consulting purposes, but also painfully aware of the US implication of owning/controlling a foreign company as a US citizen.
Would it be possible to have one's (non-US taxpayer) unmarried partner (or trusted friend) set up a UK Ltd, and that company enter into the relevant consulting contracts, and the company pays me via PAYE? Seems that this would avoid any of of the onerous US tax issues for the US consultant.
