Changing Date of Intended travel
« on: August 25, 2018, 04:03:35 PM »
Hello,

My husband and I recently submitted our UK spouse visa through the premium gold service.
We haven't gotten our confirmation email yet but apparently, its arrived.

When filling out the intended date of travel, I thought I would just be safe and put a date that's further in the future but in reality, want to go much sooner. Now reading up on it more, we realise its a lot more pivotal to the visa date than we thought.

Is there any way to bring the date forward?

Thanks for any help!
Application submitted: 15 August 2018 (settlement gold)
Biometrics & Docs sent: 22 August 2018
Application received email: 13 September 2018
Decision made email: 2 October 2018
Entered UK: 25 October 2018
FLR(M) application submitted: 29 March 2021
Biometrics done: 26 April 2021
FLR(M) decision made email: 13 May 2021

Unfortunately, as you have already submitted the visa application, I don’t believe there’s any way to change the travel date.

How far in advance did you put the date for?

We put the date for the end of Oct but it looks like we might get the visa a few weeks before that

You’ll have to wait until the date the visa is valid from, I’m afraid.   :-\\\\

So even if we get a response three weeks earlier than our intended date of travel, they’re likely to honour the date we submitted?

They may not, but that's the way it's supposed to happen. That's the point of having that question as part of the application.
Sometimes though, they ignore the date so it's possible you will get a date sooner but you won't know until you receive your package back to you.

We suggest putting the earliest date you could possibly want to travel, if that date has passed, they will give you a date around the time that the decision is made.
