ILR - 5 year Route - Evidence List
« on: August 21, 2018, 10:52:10 PM »
Hello all,

Next 1 October I have a premium service appointment to apply for the ILR (SET[M]) 5-year route. I arrived in the UK with the spouse visa on 9 October 2013 and got my FLR(M) on 24 May 2016. Below is the list of evidence I am planning on providing for the SET(M). Please let me know if I'm missing anything or if anything is wrong ;D

Evidence Items:

General Application Items from me-
  • SET (M) 13 July 2018 version
  • 2 passport pictures
  • Current passport
  • Expired passport with the expired spouse visa
  • BRP
  • Life in the UK test pass letter
  • Spreadsheet printout of itemized evidence

General Application Items from husband-
  • 1 passport picture
  • Current UK passport

Items of Correspondence May 2016 - Sept 2018 (Recent 2.5 years) --Instead of every 4 months and a Sept 2018 straggler, is it acceptable to do evidence for every 5 months?
  • May through August 2016: Bank account statement in both our names
  • Sept through December 2016: Two separate items addressed individually to same address
  • January through April 2017: Council tax bill in both our names
  • May through August 2017: Mortgage statement in both our names
  • September to December 2017: Two separate items addressed individually to same address
  • January to April 2018: Bank account statement in both our names
  • May through August 2018: Mortgage statement in both our names
  • Sept 2018: Bank account statement in both our names

Financial Requirement items (I will be using my own salary)-
  • July through September 2018 payslips from my job (HR pretty much sent me what I can see online but on PDF which is kind of crap), including manager letter in company letterhead stating these were provided to me by HR
  • July through September 2018 bank statements (with both our names) for each month showing the payslip monthly salary being deposited
  • Employment letter from HR stating how long I've worked there, the contract, and my annual salary
  • My 2017 P60

Relationship- ---Is this necessary?
  • Notarized copy (and additional photocopy which they kept) of marriage certificate

Accomodation Items----Annual mortgage statements are also used as evidence, is this ok?
  • Our current house land registry in both our names
  • 2016 to 2017 Annual mortgage statement in both our names with official bank letterhead
  • 2017 to 2018 Annual mortgage statement in both our names with official bank letterhead

Thanks very much for any feedback.

You need to provide at least 6 months worth of bank statements and pay slips. If you are going to include the P60, which is optional, it should be the one for 2018.
Marriage certificate is compulsory.
Full names should be written on the back of the photos.
I would only provide the most recent mortgage statement along with the land registry document for the accommodation evidence.

Have a read here to refresh yourself on the requirements.  :)

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-fm-se-family-members-specified-evidence

Excellent. Going to read and save that link. I have "upped" my banking statements (to show the salary going in) and pay slips to six months. Also, Instead of every 4 months, I've made the correspondence evidence range 5 months, with June through Sept 2018 being the only four months. Regardless, I am planning on bringing every piece of correspondence for the last 2.5 years in a separate bag (to be left in the car during appointment) just in case...

There is a question in the SET(M) application which states to list every time I have been outside of the UK. Is this ranging the five years or the last 2.5 years with FLR(M)? I might have a little heart attack if it is the five years. I travel for work quite often - it's a lot of info to get ahold of for five years!

Additional question: On SET(M) question 8.3A Income from salaried employment... I have filled out the "You" only as I want to use my salary only. I have left the "Your Sponsor" empty. Right after there is the following question "You and your sponsor's total combined income from salaried employment" and a box. Do I add my salary only? It would make sense to me but the question is stated a bit odd as there is an "and" rather than an "and/or". Thanks for the help!

Your salary only... you are putting in this box the salary you are relying on and providing evidence of for the visa. This may be just your salary, just your sponsor's salary, or a combination of both (if neither of you meet the requirement on your own).

So, you just pretend that your sponsor is not working... so essentially, when you 'combine' your salaries you get:

Your salary + £0 = Total salary
