Applying for ILR by post
« on: August 28, 2018, 12:34:29 PM »
Time is ticking down until we post my IRL.  We are using cash savings for the financial requirements as husband will be retiring while the application is being processed.  We would have applied sooner however the bank sent his bank statements via his online banking mail box so we have to go back and try again for paper ones to be sent to the house.  I have a draft list of documents to be sent with the application below:

My current and expired passports
My Biometrics Residence Permit
Pass Letter for Life in the UK Test
2 Passport photos for me
1 Passport photo for husband
1 Copy of husband's passport (all pages and front and back)

Bank Statements for 3 Sept 2018 to 1 March 2018
Declaration as to where the funds are from - which are from his wages (Not sure as to how to word this)

BT bill in both names - 19 April 2016
Severn Trent Water in both names - 18 Oct 2016
Council Tax Bill in both names - 14 March 2017
ST Water in both names - 11 Oct 2017
Council Tax Bill in both names - 12 March 2018
British Gas Bill in husband's name - 11 August 2018 - taken from online - could be exchanged for his bank statement of current account.
Bank statement in my name - 30 August 2018 - will be getting this on Thursday from bank

Marriage Certificate
Decrees of divorce for previous marriages
Land Registry for House

I have grown children who are not included on my application as they live in the US so I answered yes for 3.2 do I have to answer 3.6.  I did on my last application in 2016 but would rather not on this one.  None of the children have ever lived in the UK with us.

Thank you in advance for looking this over and and suggestions would be great.

Are you not able to take the printed online statements into a local bank branch and get them stamped?

Bank Statements for 3 Sept 2018 to 1 March 2018

Are those the correct dates? Or have you just written the latest one first, and you actually mean 1st March 2018 to 3rd September 2018?

You don't need to write a separate declaration, you just write it on the application form where it asks for the source of the savings.

So, for question 8.3E (iii), you answer as follows:
(iii) Source of funds (e.g. regular savings from salary). You must declare any money which has been given to you by a third party.
Regular savings from salary

And that's all you need.

They mean children under 18.

If they are all over 18, you answer NO to 3.2 and you leave the rest of section 3 blank (unless you and your spouse have any other children under 18 together, or your spouse has any children under 18 from a previous relationship).

I think I am confusing myself -  ::)

It says on the new application on page 50:
Note 6: We do not accept internet or cashpoint statements as evidence of finances.

However from Appendix FM 1.7 Financial Requirements - August 2017 - it says that you can use electronic bank statements as long as they have been stamped by the bank.  I think I am confusing the internet with electronic.  If this is the case then we will print off the bank statements on Monday and go tootle to the bank for the stamps.

I did write the dates backwards...my fingers were not engaged with my brain.... ::)  So it would be 1 March 2018 to 3 Sept 2018.

Found 8.3 iii, thank you for pointing that out to me.

And all children over 18 and husband has no children so that section is now sorted.

We will be doing our final check on Monday after the bank and sending it off on Tuesday and will update as the process goes on.

Thank you ksand24 for your help  :D

You aren't confusing internet with electronic, it's just bad wording on the FLR(M) application form - which is really vague about the documents needed anyway. Definitely use the Appendix FM 1.7 and Appendix FM-SE guidance for this and NOT the FLR(M) form... because the application form doesn't include all the information about the document requirements.

So, yes, you can use printed internet/electronic statements but ONLY if they are either:
- stamped/signed by the bank on EVERY SINGLE page
OR
- accompanied by a letter from the bank confirming authenticity.

What you can't do though, is just print your internet statements and just include them without any form of confirmation of authenticity, because they could have easily been doctored or forged... which is why the FLR(M) form says what it does.
