Hi all,

It seems the instructions on the UK government website have been changed:

newcomer link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/usa-apply-for-a-uk-visa/apply-for-a-uk-visa-in-the-usa [nonactive]

We have put in our application, the biometric appointment is today and in all documents received till now it mentions Sheffield. My spouse will ask today what is happening. Does anybody else know ?  W'll keep you posted on what we hear.

Here is the text on government website:

3. Mail your application
Your biometric confirmation receipt will be stamped at your appointment. You then have 5 days to mail this, your application form, your passport and supporting documents to VFS Services USA Inc. All applications must be accompanied by a valid passport with at least one page blank on both sides. If the application is mailed without a passport the application will be refused.

You should mail your application to:

VFS Services USA Inc.
UKVI Scanning Hub
750 Third Avenue
Suite 946
New York
NY 10017

Did you already purchase shipping labels from VFS? I'm curious if those direct to NY now. It seems from other threads they've been preparing to change the process for a bit but I don't think we had seen anyone directed to NY yet.

Someone in one of my FB groups posted a letter they received. Not only do the documents look to be get sent to NY, but the letter states "Photocopies of any supporting documents you are submitting with your application."

I'm extremely curious to see if this helps move applications through the system quicker.
Even when life seems at it's most dark and despairing.. there is within the power to make change.

Ugh. I hope it’s quicker. I’m applying next month! Is the cost of priority labels any cheaper? Lol

I would think buying your own would be much cheaper if docs are being sent to NY instead of Sheffield!

Doesn’t look like it, because all you are paying for is for someone in Sheffield to place your application in the priority queue... which will still be the same service whether your documents are send directly to Sheffield or sent to New York and then forwarded to Sheffield.

I assumed she meant the the VFS shipping labels vs priority processing. Shipping should be much cheaper.
