Renewing US Passport in Edinburgh

So I've decided that since I know it will be a minimum of 6 months before we can go back to the States that I want to go ahead and change my last name on my passport and BRP.  For the passport, I've read I can either apply by post of visit the Consulate in Edinburgh.

I think one of my fellow Scotland residents did the in person application but I cannot find the post. Anyone know if it costs anything extra? I know it is $110.00 for just the passport and it's free by post but I wasn't sure about the in person process.

Ah, thanks tami! So just go on the days they list during those service hours right? I don't need an appointment do I?

Yes, just go in during the walk in times. You don't need an appointment.

I would just double check their service times though as they have a new consular deputy and they were going through a wee transition period.
