Don't click on the Costco thread.  It's not for new comers.  LOL!!!  You'll learn a little more than you bargained for.

In other words, click on the Costco thread if I want to be thoroughly entertained?  [smiley=laugh3.gif]

Also... I've found that many people just aren't into dressing on salad. We went to a party once and they had a big bowl of salad set out. I thought "great!" But then found that they didn't have any dressing or anything to go on it. And people were eating it plain. Um, why would I just eat a plain bowl of salad? Even when I was in France they served salad with some olive oil to drizzle over it. My husband isn't a salad fan, but when I've made salad before he just eats it plain. No dressing, no extra vegetables, no croutons, nothing.  ???

im not a huge salad fan, when i first started eating in, i ate it plain, i thought if im gonna eat this, might as well taste the natural flavors. a few decades later i found raspberry vinaigrette, then moved onto other stuff. still don't like the creamy stuff, but homemade honey mustard ala' Outback Steakhouse is a must have  ;D

haha I just found this thread! I completely agree with you Mrs. MagPie! What I don't understand is why they have noddles in their salads... whats the point of eating a salad then? The point is not eating carbs! I sure am going to miss the salads we have here. Even the to go salads are delish!!

I don't mind a good pasta salad. But I generally don't want pasta in my regular vegetable salad. Although there's this one chinese chicken salad at a restaurant in LA and they put rotini in it and it's soooo delish!

I'll miss being able to go out to a restaurant and have a big array of salads from which to choose. Sometimes I don't want a sandwich or chips or jacket potato or quiche. Can I get a proper salad??

I'm the same! Pasta salads are good, mainly in the summer time. But a regular salad, I think is lettuce and fruit/veggies and nuts. ooh that sounds good. I think I'll have to go get a really good salad before I leave haha. There are some REALLY good salads at restaurants.

Although, I do have to say I have had a few good ones in england. I feel like they have a signature one there. It's chicken, bacon, avocado with a honey mustard (not the typical honey mustard in the states but still good) they usually offer it at most pubs.

Sometimes you just crave a good salad! haha

Yep, I need a good salad sometimes. But I've pretty much determined that most of my salads are going to be homemade if I want a nice with that has lots of ingredients and isn't dry with no dressing. LOL!

I often do salad at home.  I prefer it, anyway, because then I get exactly what I want.  To make it feel properly indulgent, I like to cook some chunks of chicken breast in a skillet to put on top.  A bit of chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, sprinkling of cheese, some guindilla peppers, croutons, (other veg of your choosing,) chicken chunks, and a drizzle of dressing.  Sometimes, instead of dressing (Newman's Own Italian), I'll just blob some Old El Paso salsa on it.  And if I don't have croutons, I'll crush some "lightly salted" tortilla chips on top.  Either way, it's nom!

Ooh, that sounds very yummy!! That's what I love about salads. You can get very creative with them. Sky's the limit.
