Lox and Bagels
« on: December 15, 2004, 11:24:24 AM »
Anyone a fan of lox and bagels? I treated myself this morning and had lox and bagels on onion/poppyseed bagels. The lox wasnt like the good ole Nova I used to get in Chicago but it was nice just the same. :)

I can take or leave the lox but love the bagels!!! But, the store bought ones here aren't that nice so one rainy day that I'm not working, I'm going to make some homemade ones. They're a bit time consuming but not overly difficult! YUM!!!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Geez youre very ambitious Balmerhon!
Ever have a Lender's Bagel? YUCK!
We used to go to the Kosher bakery and get fresh bagels, Keiser rolls and onion rolls. Also at holiday time we would get a massive Challuh! YUMMY!

Oh yummmmm...My Mom is coming for Christmas from NY and I'm sooo tempted to ask her to bring me a dozen. I don't care if they are a bit stale.

Ohh NO!  I just remembered that I'm on a no-carb diet.
WAH!
Shoot me now.

Can't believe I am saying this, but scoop out the middle (best bit, but hey!) of the bagel, you can get more cream cheese then!!!

I am a big fan too!  When I was back in Balitmore recently I made a point to get to my old local bagel shop.

There is nothing better than getting a freshly made warm bagel, so fresh that you don't even have it toasted...of course add the lox!   ;)

I do buy them at the grocery here....while good, there is nothing better than the real thing.

Balmerhon......Bagel Works!  :D  Although Sam's is fantasic too!  ;)

Also, went to the Paper Moon cafe a couple of mornings for the old "Hampden" omlet, then one morning at the Double T Diner. Needless to say, we got our fill of some great breakfast food that week!
