Ooo, the pound is like $1.27-ish right now. Be nice if it stays there (or goes lower) for the next few days, until my pension/SS monthly payments hit! :D

Yeah, I've been watching it go down for the past few days, wondering when I should make a transfer.

I go to the USA in Feb, so I suspect that is when it'll be at an all time low.  You know, Murphy's Law.

If I can get my driving licence, we want to go "home" in February, for one last go'round. The Daughter had to leave some stuff with a friend, and there were some things we didn't get to do before we left because of the screw-up with the movers. So, her clothes, Randy's Donuts, Solvang, some shopping (Target for jeans and shoes). But I have to get the damned driving license first!  (Theory and hazard test next Friday.)

Have to source the cheapest airlines with the cheapest "extra bag" fees that don't land in England first. So far it looks like Aer Lingus (clear US customs in Dublin) or KLM (GLA to Amsterdam to LAX).  Do NOT want to clear US customs anywhere other than embarkation point over here or final destination. That's always a b*tch, getting your luggage, schlepping it through customs and then back to the carrier. We should each have a few suitcases. One needs "stuff" one cannot get here. And we absolutely do not want the nightmare of dealing with Heathrow or Gatwick. Want to fly into GLA or EDI directly from outside the UK.

All my income is in dollars, so no big savings on anythign on that end. Maybe if I book the fares through a UK website it'd be cheaper on the fares?
