Wow. Two doubles
« on: November 10, 2018, 08:41:11 AM »
I just had to share that I had two double yolked eggs back to back. My hubby had one double yolked egg the day before. How weird!

The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

According to The Encyclopedia of Superstitions by Richard Webster: Double-yolked eggs are believed to be a sign of good luck. However, in some parts of Great Britain a double-yolked egg is a warning of death. ... Finding a double yolk in an egg means someone in the immediate family is pregnant.

That escalated quickly

Jokes aside, you've gotten your eggs from young hens apparently. More protein for you!

I think I'll go with the good luck... Haha.

Pregnancy is unlikely and I don't think anyone will die,but isn't that what we all think?

I only needed one egg since I had two yolks.

My family has Scandinavian roots (lots of Swedish ancestry). Maybe we better be careful...

That happened to me a few years ago. I had a pack of six eggs and they were all double yolked!

I've gone my entire life without ever getting a double yolked egg and then I get two! It was so cool.

En entire egg carton of double yolked eggs is pretty amazing.

Were they local farm fresh eggs?
My girls laid a few double yolkers when they started laying, as their body hadn't quite figured it out what it was doing.
Some (rare) breeds actually lay double yolkers fairly often.  It's quite rare for the supermarket eggs to have double yolkers, because they normally scan all the eggs first for such things.

Enjoy!!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

They were straight from the grocery store, Happy something or other in the yellow cartons. Three out of 10 were double yolks. It made me smile.
