The Dreary Season
« on: November 02, 2018, 03:56:11 PM »
Ugh.... its gonna rain and be 40 degrees till Feb now, this period just after Halloween and again after New Years just saps the will to live sometimes. All I want to do is curl up on the couch and eat stews and casseroles  :P

Nothing wrong with that!    ;D

But if you are finding yourself struggling with the lack of daylight, consider getting a SAD light. I got one a couple of years ago which I use if I feel my mood is becoming low in the winter months. It seems to work for me.  :)

I'm not a big fan of the weather here (my chief complaint really) - except when it was red hot this summer, I was a big fan of that!  8)

However, I second the SAD light. Also maybe think about a Vitamin D supplement. And exercise, and just bundling up with the appropriate gear and getting out there. Those are all things that help me a lot 'cause I struggle otherwise.

But cozy is very good too - the sofa, the stews & casseroles, wine...

Thanks everyone, ya, been looking into the D supplements, exercise not a problem , I keep looking on the bright side, at least its not snowy New England which, while beautiful, makes driving for a living a hassle....

I bought a large plant light last year. For the plants. Apparently it works on the daughter like a SAD light! And we had fresh herbs all winter as well. :)
