our solicitor did not tell us any of this information...And we thought nothing could actually could be done til after the wedding.

No, you can do all of that now.  Just for NHS treatment, you would need to pay for any services on a fiance visa.  That's all.  But you can register.

You definitely should have been added to the council tax straight away.  I'm surprised your fiance/now-husband didn't do that.

And yes, you can drive on your US license for 12 months.  But it takes a long time to get a license here, so best to apply for the provisional straight away.  How long it will take to get your license depends on how busy they are in your area.  Taking first available tests, it took me over 5 months from start to finish.  So best to get started on that now, especially if you plan to start work after FLR(M), as you may not have as much free time.  :)

ok now I am panicking a bit more....Didn't know I could register for a GP. Thought that was after the Visa approval...No on DVLA because we were told I was good on my DL for 12 months and that info is also coming from 2 of his relatives who works at the DVLA and no...I have nothing...OMG!!! :(

You can register with a GP at any time. The only difference is that if you need treatment during your fiancé visa, you have to pay for it (and show health insurance).

I would apply for a provisional licence and get started on working towards getting your UK driving licence ASAP.

While you can legally drive on your US licence for 12 months, if you haven’t got your full UK licence when the 12 months are up, you can no longer legally drive... and until you get the UK licence, you will be treated as a brand new learner driver (L plates displayed on the car, and you must be accompanied at all times by someone over 21 who has held a full UK licence for at least 3 years.

It can take several months to pass all the tests, and it’s a good idea to take some driving lessons to learn how to pass the test.

Yeah, this is another reason why I never recommend solicitors for straightforward applications!

You can do everything (in terms of NHS, driving lessons, being added to bills) on your fiancé visa, except for working/studying and applying for an NI number.

You definitely need to be added, to keep above board.

It *may* affect his benefits.  I don't know the ins and outs of anything.  The council will be able to advise.

Is it a discount that he gets, or is it that he does not count as an adult for council tax because of his disability?

If he doesn’t pay because he is not counted as an adult for the purpose of council tax, then now that you have moved in, unless you also have an exemption as well, you may be responsible for paying the entire council tax bill each month (though you would qualify for the 25% single person’s discount as your husband wouldn’t count).

You can’t not let the council know you live there though, because if you living there means you now have to pay, then not telling them would be council tax fraud.

well I suppose we are getting this taken care of ASAP... Ugg...How can I be responsible for council tax when I am unable to get a job until after my FLR (M) is approved. I technically have no rights.

Ok made a phone call with the NHS yesterday and I got the approval to register with Nathans clinic so today going to go register today. Got me on the council tax yesterday but we won't  get that back for 2 weeks...Won't get my passport back for 2 weeks...ugg...In limbo...I hate this... Trying to get added to Nathans bank account or even getting me my own account and utilities is proving to be a PAIN IN THE *$#....You can't have one without the other...grrrr...Until we get the council tax back I can't do squat.  I am honestly starting to panic again and I hate this feeling. I am terrified that I am going to get ripped from my husband again.....I need to breath.... :\\\'(

Do NOT panic.  You've got this.  The entry clearance is the hurdle.  You've jumped that one.  ;D

You have NOTHING to worry about.

While the application asks for 6 documents in each name, you haven’t been here long enough to do that yet, and UKVI understand that.

It’s really not a problem - you just send whatever you do have in your name and then write an explanation for why you are not able to provide more (because you have only recently arrived in the U.K. and have not yet been able to get your name on documents).

Remember that the FLR(M) form covers a number of situations, from the first time applying after entering on a fiancé, work or student visa, to extending after several years in the UK... and so not everyone will be in the same situation, or able to provide all the correspondence documents.
