Travelling Before You Receive Your Passport

Hi everyone,

I finally got my citizenship application through and attended my ceremony this morning.

I am due to travel to France on Monday, and was wondering if I can still travel on my previous passport with my certificate whilst I await my British passport?

I called the Passport Advice Line but in typical style they won't give me any advice!

People have been successful doing so.

Though the most recent person I know who did LOST her certificate and had to pay about £300 for a replacement and extend her trip by several days.

But so long as you keep hold of your certificate, you will be okay.  You’ll likely get told off and they will mark you to not be allowed in again with just the certificate, but that’s no big deal.
