I'm lost in a mire of not-exactly-precise info on the UK train systems, etc, and rules about transpo with dogs.
I am coming to UK in Feb. I am arriving with my bulldog via the Dutch Flyer ferry on a Wednesday morning at the Harwich International Port. I will be living in London. I have no friends/family in the country so will be handling an XXL dog kennel (.... my bully looks ridiculously small inside of it but Lufthansa insists on the size...
)and 1-2 large suitcases solo.
Optimally - I'd like to take a train from Harwich to Liverpool Street Station, get in a black taxi outside and get dropped at my new flat. But I don't know if I can. It seems that some trains permit pets, others don't and I don't know what train companies take these routes or how to find out. I know that Harwich doesn't have ticket collection desk, just a pay-and-go automated booth. Do I have to keep the bully in his kennel? Buy him a ticket as well? Pay the steward for him? etc etc.
Any pointers would be quite appreciated.
