Final final checklist
« on: December 04, 2018, 11:18:09 AM »
Hey guys,

My wife are FINALLY ready to send everything today.

She has created a checklist - I would really appreciate it if somebody could look over it. There are a couple of optional things in there that I know we don't have to have in there but to keep my mind at rest, I will. But if there is something essential that we are missing, would love to know.

Applications and receipts to include
Receipt for priority processing
Printed online application
Appendix II
Receipt for IHS Payment
Stamped biometric appointment confirmation page

Letters to include
Letters of introduction from applicant
Letters of introduction from sponsor

Passports and passport photos
Passport photos of applicant (2)
Passport photos of  sponsor (1)
Applicant's current and previous passport
Copy of bio page from sponsor's passport
Question - does my wife (applicant) need to photocopy each page of expired and current passport?

Financial Evidence
Stamped bank statements covering 8 months
8 months of payslips
Letter from employer confirming printed payslips
Letter of confirmation of employment from employer

Relationship evidence
Proof of relationship cover letter and trip summary table
Original marriage certificate and apostile
Photographs showing applicant and sponsor together during all trips
Whatsapp chat history covering entire year of relationship (excerpts from every month, copy and pasted from downloaded chat history). screenshots of a few facetime video calls.
Travel documents (tickets, itineraries) for all trips between applicant/sponsor

Accommodation evidence
Land registry for sponsor's home
Housing inspection report
Recent council tax statement
Recent utility bill
Letter from sponsor's parent confirming giving permission for us to reside in their house
Passport bio page from sponsor's parents
Pre-paid shipping label and return envelope
Photocopies of all submitted documents

Thank you very much!

It seems you only need to send copies of your documents now, not the actual documents.

You also don’t need the following, so you can take them all out:
- Letters of introduction from applicant
- Passport photos of applicant (2) (you only need 1, and even that may not be needed)
- Passport photos of sponsor (1)
- first month of payslips (only 6 months are needed, but we recommend sending 7 to be safe)
- first month of bank statements  (only 6 months are needed, but we recommend sending 7 to be safe)
- photos of trips (you only need to send 1 photo, 2 at most, to show you have met in person 1 time... I’d include one from the wedding and one from another time in the relationship)
- Housing inspection report
- Recent council tax statement
- Recent utility bill
- Passport bio page from sponsor's parents

Okay perfect. Apart from what you highlighted, everything else is okay? We aren't missing anything?

You don't need the apostille.  I know you may think sending more is better.  But you don't get a bigger or better tick in the box if you send more.  In fact, it'll slow things down as it's more stuff for the scanning centre to sort through and scan.  You don't want them to miss scanning a required document because they were scanning a non-required document.  So do try to eliminate the unnecessary items.

If either of you have been married before, you need divorce decrees.  Otherwise, you are good to go.  :)

Thank you guys

another question: are we supposed to have received an official IHS receipt or do we only get sent email receipts from worldpay and noreplynhspaymentds@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk?

They are both plaintext emails without any logos or anything and we just want to be sure we are including the correct receipt that they require. Is there supposed to be an attached receipt as opposed to adding in a copy of the email that we received. i hope that this makes sense.

All you need is the IHS reference number. I believe most people just print the email with the IHS number on it.
