Christmas Desserts
« on: December 29, 2018, 04:18:58 PM »
Me and my husband were talking about Christmas foods and their origins. his family always makes a fruitcake but as well get those chocolate “bomb” cakes. But we were wondering how many other people have fruitcake for dessert at Christmas and if it’s still a big tradition. I see them at most uk weddings I’ve been to but was just curious.

Fruitcake is a must! Although I have always been the only person in my family who seems to like it, over the years.

The best comes from a little bakery in Corsicana, Texas - the Collin Street Bakery.  https://www.collinstreet.com/

Love me some Christmas (fruit) cake!!   Also, love mince pies and Christmas pudding.

Apparently most of UKY doesn't share this sentiment.

I had Christmas Pudding for the first time this year after seeing videos of it in the past, I enjoyed it! My husbands family has mince pies too. In the US we had friendly's jubilee roll and many different pies, but always pumpkin and chocolate pudding pie w/ bananas.
