Accidentally didn’t file last year..
« on: January 22, 2019, 06:54:57 AM »
Right, as I’m looking at my taxes this year, I realised I did my form on tax act but then never filed it from last year. Can I submit it with this years? I’m really horrible at taxes and am terrified of the paper versions. I did however submit my form to claim my bank account having over 10k. So at least I did one thing right :/

Side note, I make nowhere near enough to have to pay taxes in the US, but just want to be a good citizen and file.

I don't know about official rules and whatnot. But I e-filed one year, but for some reason it never went through.  I only noticed the next year.  When I called the IRS about it , the next they said to just send it in when I could, since I didn't owe anything.

The IRS SFOP is the only official opportunity currently available. Negligence is listed on the IRS website as a possible reason for using the SFOP.

Thank you, I’m absolutely gutted I did this. I think what happened is since I use an online software I have to have family pay for it back in the states as they only take American cards.
