Do you and your partner have any children? SET(M)
« on: April 15, 2019, 07:39:19 PM »
I have looked for the Search button to search for adult children but can’t find it! On the new online form it does start off by asking if you are including any dependents, which we ignored as we don’t! But then, later on it asks if you and your partner have any children. Yes, we do! But it gives no opportunity to enter any more details about them, such as age. Ours are 44 and 50. I am thinking that, having answered Yes, we will be asked for documents for them in the Documents Section, like birth certificates. I have no idea if they have theirs to hand, they do have passports which they could scan but is this relevant, or should we just explain in a covering note that they are way older than eighteen!? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Married 1966, left UK 1969, returned 1998, left again 2000, returned June 2014 (husband on spousal visa) granted FLR(M) November 30th 2016  and ILR on  24th May, 2019. Yeah!

You only need to include children who are aged under 18 at the time you apply.

So, you tick NO to having children (because they are not children) and move on to the next section.

The SET(M) application is very similar to FLR(M) in terms of the information you have to provide. I assume you did not include them on your spousal and FLR(M) applications, so you do not include them here.

Thanks! We put No last time because the paper FLR(M) form made it very clear that they were referring to dependant children under eighteen. This SET(M) doesn’t! It just asks if you have children and seeing as want to mention our children as a reason to stay, it seems weird to say No without any qualification. Not sure what we put on the Spousal visa application. I am going to look for it.

Keeping my questions under one post, I have another!

We are applying with savings but other applicants may have had a similar issue with inputting figures in the boxes provided. I have tried to put in our figure as xx,xxx.xx but all I get is a message asking me to input a number. How daft is that?! So do I put the whole number is, including pence as xxxxxxx? Or just xxxxx without the pence which to me looks like we don’t have enough savings to apply! Any advice would be much appreciated.

What happens if you put in xxxxx.xx, without the comma?  Does that work?  If not, I'd do xxxxx, and leave the pence off.

Thanks! Yes, it does now allow me to do it as xxxxx.xx. The other day I had a problem, but all sorted now! When I opened the form today, it gives a notice that some questions have changed and we should check our answers to make sure we have answered everything required. Can’t see any changes though!

Just as a heads up to other applicants, apparently those using Safari are having problems and are asked to change their browser. I was reading on another forum that some could not make Sopra Steria appointments and came to the conclusion that it was because they were using Apple products. The notice on our form today regarding Safari suggests that this is the case.
